It is every parents dream for their child/children to have/find that spouse to share and grow in life. You know, that person in which they compliment and cover each other. He is what she's not and she is what he's not.
My daily prayer or affirmation is that God will continue to bless my children's love, respect and friendship for their mate and visa versa.
Because sometimes it's that friendship that will help you get across that hurdle. It's that friendship that kicks in when you still love him/her, but for whatever reason you're just not liking them at that time.
It takes work to keep the relationship, courtship or marriage flourishing. It can be easy to become lackadaisical or take him/her for granted. But as my grandmother would say, "nothing beats a failure but a try".
So make that honest effort to show him/her how much you love them.
Examples: text a sweet note; Google and copy/paste a sweet meme; text a sweet emoji or just a quick call to say "I'm thinking of you or to see how their day is going.
There's an ole saying "you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar". And you can add a little sweetness without breaking the bank.
